Key Definitions (WRITTEN IN 2014)

Strengths = Positive qualities attributed to a person by the person or by someone referring to that person. The qualities might also be called talents, abilities, skills, or recognized patterns of behaviors that are positive and productive.

Articulation = The process of putting into words, thoughts and feelings that were previously unarticulated. This is a creative process where thoughts and feelings are combined in new ways, leading to new awareness and new articulation.

Self-Articulated Strengths = Positive qualities that a person has articulated to describe him/her self. Such qualities may first be suggested by people who have heard you talk about positive experiences. You may use some of their suggestions and you might modify them or elaborate on them so that you use more of your natural vocabulary to describe them.
